2022 Truchard Roussanne
Floral aromas of pineapple, honeysuckle, and jasmine, with highlights of brioche and vanilla. The mouth is crisp, with clean flavors of fresh pear, honeydew melon, and apricot. Bright acidity provides a lengthy finish of citrus, mineral, and spice.

Truchard Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery in the Carneros region of Napa Valley. Proprietors Tony and Jo Ann Truchard have managed a successful vineyard and grown exceptional grapes for nearly 40 years. Through their hard work and devotion to this unique property, they helped pioneer grape growing in the Carneros region of Napa. In 1989, the Truchards established a winery and began producing wines using only their estate-grown fruit.
In 1964 Tony Truchard received orders to report to Korea for a two year tour; however, a very pregnant Jo Ann Truchard, his wife, changed all of that by slipping on a grape in the grocery store in San Antonio and breaking her knee. Four days later, sporting a full leg cast, Jo Ann delivered their fourth baby and their lives changed. Instead of Korea, the Army decided to send Tony to Northern California to serve as the medical commander for a base near the Nevada border. During Tony’s tour in California the Truchard family took a number of road trips. On one such trip, after checking in at the Presidio in San Francisco, the family drove up to the Napa Valley to see the vineyards. Tony thought it would be “fun” to buy some Napa property and plant a vineyard. During the next two decades, Tony continued to buy property.
Since 1973, the Truchard estate has grown to 400 acres, of which 280 acres are planted.
The Truchard family has been farming vineyards for over 45 years and plans to carry on their legacy for many generations to come. The health of their soils, the quality of their water, and the overall health of the environment are all essential to their long-term plan for growing a multi-generational family farm. They will continue to farm sustainably and use fish friendly practices for years to come.
